At least 1,361 vehicles, including cars and motorcycles, have circulated through the Atanasio Girardot Binational Bridge (former Tienditas Bridge) in Táchira state since its reopening on Sunday, January 1, 2023, reported the People’s Power Minister for Transportation, Ramón Velásquez Araguayán.
This was stated by the head of the Venezuelan Transport portfolio, through his account on the Twitter social network, @rvaraguayan:
«More than 977 vehicles and 384 motorcycles have circulated after the opening of the Atanasio Girardot bridge yesterday between Venezuela and Colombia,» said the senior official in the message posted on the social network.
The border crossing that connects Venezuela with Colombia, also known as «Tienditas», was reopened with an official act in which authorities from both countries participated.
It is worth noting that the name of the Binational Bridge «Atanasio Girardot» is in honor of the Colombian hero, who participated in the Admirable Campaign of The Liberator Simón Bolívar.
