Venezuela and ALBA countries present at Ibero-American Summit

The Chancellor of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Jorge Arreaza, participates this Friday in the 26th Ibero-American Summit of Heads of State and Government held in the city of Antigua, in Guatemala.

Through his Twitter account, he said that it is time to strengthen Multilateralism, Cooperation and Political Dialogue, while reporting that the countries of the Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our Americas-Treaty of Commerce of the Peoples (ALBA- TCP) are present at the Ibero-American Summit.

This event that began last Thursday and concludes this Friday has as its motto: “A prosperous, inclusive and sustainable Latin America”, and is focused on ratifying and concretizing the Ibero-American commitment with the 2030 Agenda of the United Nations and its 17 Sustainable Development Goals.

At the meeting will be addressed issues that concern the region, will be issued a final Declaration agreed by all, as well as a series of special communications and an action program for Ibero-American cooperation. In addition, will be officially announced the venue for the next appointment in 2020, as reports the agency on its website.

The Ibero-American System brings together 22 countries: Andorra, Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Cuba, Ecuador, Spain, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico, Nicaragua, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, Portugal, Dominican Republic , Uruguay and Venezuela.

These Summits began to be held in 1991, and it is the first time that Guatemala has hosted the event.

Arreaza participated on Thursday in the beginning of the 4th Meeting of Chancellors within the framework of the 26th Ibero-American Summit-2018.
