National University of the Communes will open its doors on May 31

On May 31, Venezuela will take a significant step toward building a more just and equitable society with the inauguration of the National University of the Communes.

President Nicolás Maduro announced that the training center aims to empower the spokespersons of the Communal Circuits, offering academic and practical tools for the development of a new popular democracy.

During a tour of the construction site in the La Dolorita parish in Petare (Caracas), the president expressed his conviction that this university will not only be a space for knowledge, but also a true bastion of leadership and commitment for the people.

The creation of this educational facility is part of the consolidation of the Popular and Communal Government System, highlighting its importance in the country’s process of social transformation:

«By granting it the university status, we are providing the highest level of education to all those who wish to be part of this movement. Here, those interested in studying community development and popular economy, among other fields, will have the opportunity to graduate,» stated the president.

Training Leaders for Venezuela:

The National University of Communes will provide specific courses to strengthen the leadership capacity of members of the community movement:

«It is essential to combine practice with reflection, ongoing study with the wisdom of our people,» stated Maduro, reaffirming the importance of fostering an education rooted in the everyday experiences and realities of the people.

«We trust in the intelligence of our people, in their wisdom. Let us not be arrogant; we are no more than anyone else, and even less should we allow others to see us as inferior. It is our responsibility to build a future in which we are all protagonists,» he emphasized.

President Maduro remarked the need for critical education, warning that a large number of citizens still fall into the trap of misinformation:

«We must open the understanding of those who are still deceived. We are the truth and the good for our country,» he emphasized.

A Commitment to the People:

The National University of Communes was created as an instrument of collective self-education, seeking to foster endogenous and sustainable development for the Venezuelan people. Its mission is to generate humanistic knowledge, actively linked to communities and communal development projects.

This new academic space will be fundamental in creating a more educated, responsible Venezuela, determined to take charge of its own destiny. The National University of Communes stands as a symbol of the struggle for dignity and equity, a true hope for the social transformation we yearn for.
