COVID: Venezuela reports 899 community cases and 130 imported cases in the last 24 hours

A total of 899 cases of community transmission of COVID-19 and 130 imported cases were detected in the last 24 hours by the Venezuelan health authorities, raising the total number of infections to 61,569, of which 49,371 have successfully recovered, which is equivalent to 80 percent of cases.

The information was released on Monday by the Minister for Communication and Information, Freddy Ñánez, through a telephone call with Venezolana de Televisión (VTV), at the end of the daily meeting of the Presidential Commission for the Control and Prevention of COVID-19.

Regarding the community transmission cases, he explained that they focused on:

Capital District: 159 new cases in 21 of the 22 capital parishes, gathering the largest number of cases in: El Valle with 45 cases, Sucre (Catia) with 16, San Juan with 12 and Santa Rosalía with 11.

By State:
Apure: 106 new cases.
Miranda: 87 new cases.
Nueva Esparta: 79 new cases.
Yaracuy: 71 new cases.
Táchira: 61 new cases.
Bolívar: 60 new cases.
La Guaira: 54 new cases.
Zulia: 49 new cases.
Aragua: 49 new cases.
Lara: 36 new cases.
Merida: 28 new cases.
Guarico: 22 new cases.
Carabobo: 22 new cases.
Falcón: 16 new cases.

Meanwhile, regarding the imported cases, he indicated that 129 are coming from Colombia and one from Brazil.

Until this Monday there are 11,704 active cases, of which 7,644 are in hospitals, 3,720 are in CDI and 340 in private clinics.

Ñáñez specified that up to date there are 8,108 cases who are asymptomatic, 2,588 have mild acute respiratory failure, 854 are moderate patients and 154 are confined in Intensive Care Units due to presenting a serious condition.

For his part, he regretted reporting the death of nine people from the COVID-19 infection in the last hours, raising the number of fatalities to 494. The deaths were: a 47-year-old man, a 77-year-old man and a 68-year-old man from Aragua state; a 47-year-old man and a 67-year-old woman from Anzoátegui state; a 79-year-old man from Miranda State; a 50-year-old man from the Capital District, a 66-year-old man from Táchira state and a 76-year-old man from Sucre state.

Regarding the application of diagnostic tests, he specified that 1,864,663 tests have been made until Monday, which is equivalent to 62,489 tests per million inhabitants.
