Chancellor Arreaza: Restrictions imposed on Venezuela by the US violate international law

The Minister of People’s Power for Foreign Affairs of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Jorge Arreaza, addressed to the United Nations Organization (UN) the denounce about the negative impact of coercive and unilateral measures imposed by the United States Government (USA) on the nation’s financial routes, which puts the commitments of the Venezuelan State at stake.

Through the Twitter social network, the minister said on Saturday that the denounce was raised a few months ago to the UN Secretary General, António Guterres, also considering that the closure of the Venezuelan financial flow means a violation of international law:

“Months ago we denounced before the Secretary General that the financial blockade of the United States has closed the financial routes to honor the commitments of the Venezuelan State, openly violating international law,” said Arreaza in the social network.

In this regard, the chancellor stressed that in the face of the restrictions promoted by the US administration, the UN must guarantee the vote of Venezuela: “The vote of Venezuela must be guaranteed by the United Nations”, he said.
