In Colombia, the rains have persisted for more than 48 hours, which has caused an increase in the level of the rivers and has generated an unprecedented situation in several regions of the country. The torrential rains that have fallen in recent days in Colombia have affected 27 of the 32 departments that make up the country, one of the most affected is Chocó, where more than 30,000 families are in a critical situation.
Of the 31 municipalities that make up the region, 22 have been severely impacted by devastating floods; localities such as Alto Baudó, Riosucio, Litoral de San Juan, Atrato, Bagadó, Bahía Solano, Bajo Baudó and Carmen del Darién, face river overflows that have swept away homes and left entire communities under water.
