The President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, denounced that the national and international oligarchy had prepared a transitional government in the country, of carrying out successfully the assassination on August 4 in the Bolívar Avenue, in Caracas:
“They had prepared a transitional government, they had prepared a government that was gradually going to be accepted with sympathy by the Lima group and the United States Government (…) they wanted to Colombianize the political life of Venezuela and surrender regions of the country to paramilitary groups to get to control of Venezuela, they went against the rules, they got their masks off and if they had that plan, our FANB (Bolivarian Armed Forces) were prepared”, he denounced.
Maduro highlighted the character and loyalty of the Bolivarian National Armed Forces (FANB), assuring that the military institution is united and cohesive to face any situation and preserve the Bolivarian Revolution by the hand of the people.
“What would they say if they achieved their goal? That the FANB had assassinated President Maduro, they were going to cover with blood all the military honor to start a stage of chaos, of interventionism, to achieve what they have not achieved nor will they ever achieve (which is) to divide the Armed Forces (…) Would the worst had happened, it the following hours the FANB would have joined the people to make a more radical, even more socialist revolution along with the people”, he said.
