President Maduro confirms the rehabilitation of the La Guairita Water Treatment Plant

Within the framework of a new work journey of the 1×10 system of Good Governance, President Nicolás Maduro verified this Wednesday the comprehensive rehabilitation works of the La Guairita Water Treatment Plant, located in the Baruta municipality of Miranda state.

These rehabilitation works included the installation of the pumping group for filling the washing tank, cleaning of the settlers and disinfection of filters, waterproofing in general, installation of internal and external lighting, perimeter fencing, adaptation of the water quality laboratory and repair of wall frieze, among other tasks.

This plant offers a maximum production capacity of 7,500 liters per second, managing to supply 25% of the communities of the Greater Caracas to date, using the Lagartijo, Taguacita, Taguaza, Quebrada Seca, La Pereza, and the Tuy river.

The La Guairita water treatment plant is part of the Tuy 2 system, and has an average monthly production of more than 17 million cubic meters of water, to cover the consumption of nearly one million inhabitants of the Greater Caracas.

During this day of work, the National President was accompanied by the first combatant and deputy to the National Assembly (AN), Cilia Flores de Maduro, G/J Néstor Reverol, Sectoral Vice President for Public Works and Services, G/D Rodolfo Marco Torres, Minister of People’s Power for Water Services, C/C Harol Clemente, president of Hidropcapital, authorities of the Executive Cabinet and special guests.
