206 years after the proclamation of independence against Spanish colonialism to chart a path towards the social transformation in the country, Venezuela has raised the anti-imperialist and dignity flag, said on Tuesday the President of the Republic, Nicolas Maduro.
«Venezuela will not be a colony of any empire,» said the President, from the Plaza Bolivar Square (Bolivar Square) in Caracas.
Today there is «a brutal onslaught of the US imperialism against the peaceful, progressive, independence and revolutionary processes that rose throughout the Americas during this century» and in Venezuela there is «a brutal onslaught of corrupt «pitiyanqui» (Yankee-wannabe) oligarchies who have not rested for a single second in these 17 years of Bolivarian Revolution to try to stab and destroy this path of dignity, of a national claim», denounced the head of state.
In that regard, he mentioned that behind these attacks there is the imperial greed «(Of those) who have always seen us as property and not as human beings,» a reality which, he stressed, has been happening for more than 300 years ago.
