BDV increases loans for agricultural production, manufacturing, micro-loans and tourism


The President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, informed on Wednesday that the Banco de Venezuela (Bank of Venezuela – BDV) increased the loans destined to agricultural production from 9% to 21%, which translates into 96 billion bolivars at the beginning of this month of July.
The national president announced that the banking institution increased the credits for manufacturing from 10% to 57%, which is equivalent to 12 billion bolivars; in micro-loans for small and medium industries rose to 8 billion, while in tourism to 1,400 million.
“We have improved and increased the credit capacity for agricultural activity, manufacturing, for microcredit and tourism,” said the head of state from the Simón Bolívar Hall of the BDV Tower, in Caracas, where he participated in the tenth anniversary of the nationalization of this public bank.
He also urged his economic team to achieve full supply with national production of the entire food basket and all the needs of the Venezuelan people.
