During the start of the “Escudo Bolivariano” (Bolivarian Shield) 2025 Exercises, the President of the Republic and Commander-in-Chief of the Bolivarian National Armed Forces, Nicolás Maduro Moros, explained the elements that the Integral Defense Management Bodies will address in the national territory:
“Integral Defense Management Bodies, the ODDI, which we already activated in January. The state ODDI, the municipal ODDI, the parish ODDI, and it must reach the communal ODDI, the territory, during the development of the exercise”, he explained.
Following, are the points that President Nicolás Maduro highlighted:
– To maintain and increase the internal order and peace of the country together with the people, to have full control over groups that generate violence, organized crime, structured crime.
– Border control and territorial defense, maritime and air spaces.
– The protection of vital infrastructures, essential facilities for the functioning of the country.
– The defense of communication routes and everything that has to do with the capacity of movement and mobility of the country.
– The comprehensive protection of cities, military units, towns, neighborhoods, urban territories, airports, hospitals, educational centers.
– Training to have a high capacity for immediate integral reaction to any surprise.
The Venezuelan President highlighted the importance of national defense and underlined the need to deploy actions together with the people in the coming days:
«We are going to deploy today, Wednesday, January 22, tomorrow, Thursday, January 23, together with all our people,» he added, emphasizing citizen participation as a fundamental pillar in the defense of the Nation.
In his words, the President called on all Venezuelans: «If you want peace, build it at the front, be at the front to build peace. If you want peace, defend it. If you want peace, preserve it.»
«With peace we have been able to do everything, with peace we will build everything, we will do everything,» he added, reaffirming his commitment to the development of the country.
