Cabello denounces new coup d'etat attempt perpetrated by the AN in contempt

The first vice president of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (Psuv), Diosdado Cabello, denounced on Monday a new coup d’etat attempt, perpetrated by the National Assembly (AN) – an instance that has been in contempt since 2016 -, which will have the support of imperial axes.
“Today we are being attacked, from a National Assembly in contempt they intend to give a coup d’etat. The only one who guarantee peace on this land is the Bolivarian Revolution”, said the socialist leader from the swearing in of the political team of the red party in La Guaira state.
Cabello rejected the request made by several members of the right wing to the administration of Donald Trump, to apply more coercive, unilateral and illegal measures against Venezuela: “We are being besieged, attacked, threatened by the most powerful empire in the world and its allies. It does not have any kind of justification, that today the people of Venezuela, at the express request of a group of Venezuelans, is being blocked (on its right) to obtain food and medicines for the entire people”, said Cabello.
In this regard, he indicated that the measures applied against Venezuela means that the US government recognizes President Nicolás Maduro as the sole president of the South American nation, however, he said that these actions only hurt the people.
