This Wednesday, the Venezuelan Parliament held the meeting of the Consultative Commission at the Federal Legislative Palace in Caracas, to discuss the Basic 2025-2026 Legislative Program, in accordance with the provisions of article 68 of the Internal Regulations and Debates of the National Assembly (AN).
The presidents and vice presidents of all the commissions, fifteen in total, that make up the current legislative period, installed on January 5, are invited to this meeting.
The meeting is chaired by the president of parliament, deputy Jorge Rodríguez, who has said that the priority this 2025 is to continue the work to address the needs of the Venezuelan people.
Rodríguez instructed on the need to strengthen the laws in the economic and social aspect, especially in the area of social justice. He has also been emphatic about the intense work that awaits the legislative administration in 2025, especially regarding the celebration of at least nine elections this year, as well as the actions that the Legislative Branch must take to work on these processes that strengthen democracy and sovereignty in the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela.
Among other aspects that the President of the Board of Directors of the AN has mentioned during this meeting with the deputies that make up the various commissions, was ratified the importance of the work of strengthening and meshing this work with the different Public Powers of the Republic, always in (for) the well-being of the people.
It is appropriate to remember that, during these last four years, the Venezuelan Legislative Branch sanctioned more than 90 laws that favor the Welfare State and the stability of the Venezuelan people, but, in addition, it enriches the empowerment of the Popular Power of citizens of all ages to defend their rights in different areas.
In these first days of the year, the work carried out by this parliament with the updating of the laws of the People’s Power, which also resulted in the elections of judges and justices of the peace in all the organized communities of the country, stands out.
