President of the AN Jorge Rodríguez: Parliament will accompany the recovery of the welfare state

The president of the National Assembly, Jorge Rodríguez, made the notification of the beginning of sessions of the Legislative Branch for the period 2024-2025 before the President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro Moros, an act in which he took stock of the legislative journey and a projection of the next parliamentary period.

The head of the Legislative Branch reflected: “The first thing we had to do (at the front of the National Assembly) was to recover the majesty of the legislative power,” after the usurpation of that power by extremist sectors of the opposition.

He stated that “it is easier to destroy than to build” and that this was demonstrated with “the disaster caused by the usurpation of legislative power.”

The president of Parliament recalled that in the 2021-2022-2023 terms, 74 laws were approved, of which he placed in the first group those that are aimed at the care and defense of Venezuelans.

Secondly, he highlighted another group of laws that accompany the new times of the Venezuelan economy, which was affected by the unilateral measures imposed by the United States and its allied countries.
