Head of State commemorates 80 years of the birth of the revolutionary Jorge Rodríguez (father)

This Wednesday, the President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, commemorated 80 years of the birth of Jorge Rodríguez (father), through his social networks:

80 years ago Jorge Rodríguez (Father) was born, a young martyr and revolutionary leader who defended just causes and fought for the dignity of the People. This distinguished Venezuelan gave his life for the freedom of our Homeland”, argued the Head of State, while showing a video of this distinguished Venezuelan leader.

80 years ago Jorge Rodríguez Sr. was born, a young martyr and revolutionary leader who defended just causes and fought for the dignity of the People. This distinguished Venezuelan gave his life for the freedom of our country”.

Jorge Rodríguez (father), was born in Carora, Lara state on February 16, 1942, was a student leader and Venezuelan leftist politician, founder of the Socialist League, was assassinated on July 25, 1976, after being tortured by the henchmen of security of the government of the then adeco (belonging to the right-wing Acción Democrática party) president, Carlos Andrés Pérez.

He was a teacher, later he entered the Central University of Venezuela (UCV) in the Faculty of Humanities, where he held student management responsibilities, one of them as a delegate to the University Council in 1966.
