During the National Council for Productive Economy this Friday, President Nicolás Maduro referred to the Hydrocarbons Engine, reporting that Venezuela has reached 1.8 million barrels of oil production per day to date. He also stated that the entire field of basic industries and mines has the capacity to further increase its capacity.
The head of state emphasized that oil production is on track to reach 1.1 million barrels, «with a lung of its own» as part of the push for the first Engine of the Bolivarian Economic Agenda, which will guarantee its growth with the working class in production and marketing within the Hydrocarbons Engine.
In this regard, the President has stated that the objective is to consolidate the recovery of refining capacity, to accelerate it with investments and support from business leaders: «(It’s such) a tremendous business.»
Regarding refining capacity in Venezuela, the president added that the country currently has 25 to 30% of its refining capacity, and is increasing it to 60%, which represents a favorable income for the nation and a starting point for the development of hydrocarbon investments.
José Antonio Anzoátegui Industrial Complex closed February with 20.5 million barrels for export:
In a television broadcast, the executive director of the José Antonio Anzoátegui Industrial Complex, José Theis, reported that hydrocarbon production closed in February with 20.5 million barrels for monthly exports, and that the goal for the current month is 21 million barrels.
From Anzoátegui state, the head of this industrial complex stated that this progress has been achieved with the implementation of three main lines, activated to strengthen the Hydrocarbons Engine: Production, storage, and export.
Furthermore, Governor Theis added that a ship with liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) was currently being loaded, heading toward the center of the country.
For his part, Engineer Eduardo Pinto, Vice President of Exploration and Production and President of the Venezuelan Petroleum Corporation (CVP), mentioned that the ship heard sailing during the broadcast was carrying 150,000 barrels of natural gasoline headed to the National Refining System, with the intention of processing it at the refinery and supplying the country with quality liquid fuel.
He also stated that this work is being carried out with the commitment of the working class and the entire force of Petróleos de Venezuela S.A. (PDVSA), which operates daily under the guidelines of the State and the leadership of the Minister for Hydrocarbons, Delcy Rodríguez, with the goal of strengthening the Hydrocarbon Engine and increasing production, storage, and exports, thus giving Venezuela the capacity to establish itself as a global energy power.
