Head of State rejects false campaign against Venezuelan migrants promoted by the US

«The United States government prefers to raise the false campaign against Venezuela, claiming that a planned invasion of criminals was organized into that country. It’s a lie, no one believes that. The migration was encouraged by themselves, and brought there by coyotes,» stated the President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro Moros, denouncing the framework created by the US government with the dismantled «Tren de Aragua» (Aragua Train) criminal gang.

The head of state stated that «now, they want to justify the attacks they are carrying out against our country today with the implementation of a shameful and obsolete law.»

He reported that he has held talks with the Secretary-General of the United Nations (UN) and the High Commissioner for Human Rights, requesting immediate action to hold the government of El Salvador accountable and to hand over the list of kidnapped Venezuelans: «It’s been 15 days already…,» he said.

He indicated that during his conversation with UN Secretary-General António Guterres, he warned him of the danger looming over the human rights system established by the member countries of this multilateral organization.

After referring to the United States (US) Alien Enemies Act and pointing out that it violates UN international humanitarian law, the head of state indicated that the current Donald Trump administration’s attempt to apply this US law, as well as the genocide Israel is committing against Palestinians in Gaza, constitute a deadly attack against the multilateral organization. Defense of Humanitarian Law

In this regard, he called for the defense of all mechanisms for the defense of humanitarian law and asked countries to act to prevent a repeat of the history of the defunct League of Nations, which collapsed as a result of the rise of fascism and Nazism in Europe, which put an end to that first attempt at a multilateral organization.

The president expressed his deep gratitude for the international solidarity in the face of the outrageous kidnapping of 324 Venezuelans, who were taken to a Nazi concentration camp in El Salvador, and qualified the incident as a very serious attack on the human rights and dignity of Venezuelan migrants.

President Maduro noted on the arrival this Sunday of another flight with migrants rescued from the United States through the Vuelta a la Patria (Return to the Homeland) Plan. He reiterated his commitment to defending the rights of Venezuelans abroad and working tirelessly to guarantee their safe return to the country.
