MP sent letter to US House of Representatives to request investigation on Operation Gideon

The Public Ministry (MP) sent a letter last Tuesday to the president of the House of Representatives of the United States Congress, Nancy Pelosi, where is provided information on the ties of politicians, former military personnel and contractors from the entourage of the president of the United States, Donald Trump, in the planning of Operation Gideon, which had the purpose of overthrowing the Government of Venezuela and assassinating high authorities, and thus a thorough investigation was requested from the congressmen.

In the letter, the MP wondered if in the meetings held this year between Trump and the President of Colombia, Iván Duque, there was talk about Operation Gideon and the signing of a contract between the American company Silvercorp and opposition deputy Juan Guaidó for the assassination of the President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro; the president of the National Constituent Assembly, Diosdado Cabello, and members of the military high command of the Bolivarian National Armed Forces (FANB).

“Our institution will do everything necessary for justice to be done in accordance with our sovereign laws and it commits itself in whatever is necessary to collaborate, as a Sovereign Power, with any North American institution that seeks the truth”, states the letter sent to Congresswoman Pelosi.

The letter states that: “At least in relation to our republican history, there is no precedent for a contract like this, whose object is an immoral and illegal act that violates the most basic human rights and contradicts all the fundamental principles of democracy”.

Therefore, in the aforementioned document, Congresswoman Pelosi is asked for information on whether in the US legal establishment “it is allowed to contract private security services in order to dismember a State, the violation of the sovereignty of another country and the murder of a legitimate president and the constituted authorities of a nation; Is it legitimate under US law to hire companies to traffic arms that will be used against civilian populations and intended to disturb the peace of a country?”

It should be remembered that on May 12, Republican congressman Eliot Engel, president of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the House of Representatives, demanded a response from the government of Donald Trump regarding the planning of Operation Gideon.
