Venezuela celebrates Bicentennial of Battle of Carabobo free, independent and in peace

200 years after the Battle of Carabobo, Venezuela reached the Bicentennial week absolutely free, independent and in peace, as stated by the president of the National Assembly, Jorge Rodríguez.

Through his account on the Twitter social network, @jorgerpsuv, he recalled that at this time, 200 years ago, “the forces of the future had already converged to seal the freedom of our land.”

On the afternoon of June 23 (1821), Simón Bolívar from Tinaquillo, launched the final harangue: “Tomorrow you will be undefeated in Carabobo.”

He stressed that the phrase “Bolívar was going forward and compelled a lot” belongs to Arturo Uslar Pietri, he expressed. 200 years after, this people will fight to defend their freedom forever.

This Wednesday, June 23, the AN (National Assembly) will hold a solemn session to commemorate the campaign and the Battle of Carabobo.
