President Maduro talked with his Syrian counterpart on advances against imperial harassment


The Ministry of People’s Power for Foreign Affairs issued a statement on Monday in which it announced that the President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolas Maduro, communicated by telephone with his Syrian counterpart Bashar Al Assad, in order to wish success to the Syrian people in 2017, and to highlight the advancws of both nations against the imperial harassment.

COMMUNIQUÉ:

Today, the President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolas Maduro Moros, held a telephone conversation with the President of the Syrian Arab Republic, Bashar Al Assad.

President Nicolas Maduro wished success to the Syrian Arab Republic in this new year where both peoples have advanced despite imperial harassment against our countries.

In the eyes of the world result as admirable the heroic achievements of the Syrian people in the fight against terrorism and against the vilest and cruelest forms of war.

The thousands of martyrs fallen in defense of the Syrian homeland, of its territory and its invaluable heritage, will be vindicated in the victory over the terrorists and the imperial forces, which is clearly already visible on the horizon.

The struggle of Syria and Venezuela is for sovereignty, for independence, the respect for the principles of non-interference in internal affairs and free self-determination of peoples, this is, for the right to the very existence of our nations, within the framework of respect for the International Law and the Charter of the United Nations.

The Syrian Arab Republic, a member country of the Non-Aligned Countries Movement (NAM), has relied on, and will count on the firm support of Venezuela at the international scenarios, in defense of the independence, union and territorial integrity of Syria.

President Bashar Al Assad thanked the support of Venezuela in the defense of the inalienable and sovereign rights and principles of Syria. Both leaders reaffirmed their willingness to continue working for the peace of mankind.
