COVID: Venezuela registers 512 new cases in the last 24 hours

Venezuela registered 512 new infections by Covid-19 in the last 24 hours, 511 of community transmission and 1 case imported from Mexico with entry through La Guaira state, as announced the sectoral vice-president for Communication, Culture and Tourism, Freddy Ñáñez.

From his Twitter account @LuchaAlmada, he reported: “The community cases are distributed in: Capital District 127, Miranda 81, Zulia 69, Táchira 54, Yaracuy 47, Mérida 46, La Guaira 41, Trujillo 21, Falcón 9, Monagas 5, Anzoátegui 5, Carabobo 5, Lara 1″.

Likewise, the also Minister for Communication and Information highlighted that the “Capital District is again the entity with the highest number of infections in 20 of its Parishes: Sucre 20, Altagracia 13, San Juan 11, La Vega 10, El Valle 9, Coche 9, Caricuao 6, El Paraíso 6, El Recreo 6, 23 de Enero 5, among others”.

“We reached a total of 117,811 confirmed cases, 111,616 people recovered, which represents 95% of the infections,” he said.

He also noted that there are currently 5,111 active cases, of which 4,703 are being treated within the public health system, 70 in private clinics and 338 in home isolation.

“2,869 patients are asymptomatic, 1,816 with mild Acute Respiratory Insufficiency, 322 with Moderate Acute Respiratory Insufficiency and 104 in the Intensive Care Units,” pointed out the sectoral vice president.

He also lamented the death of 6 Venezuelans due to Covid-19: “A 50 years old woman and a 78 years old man in Miranda state, A 76 years old woman in the Capital District, a 72 years old man in Táchira, a 76 years old man in Trujillo and a 60 years old man from Mérida. Condolences to their families and loved ones,” said the head of the communications portfolio.

Finally, he highlighted that 304 days after the pandemic in Venezuela, 2,463,702 tests have been performed; which represents 82,123 tests per million inhabitants.
