Maduro asks the population for more discipline in the fight against the pandemic

The President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, urged the Venezuelan population to have the utmost awareness and social responsibility, to avoid social gatherings and thus curb the chain of contagion of the Covid-19 coronavirus.

“It is at the birthdays and parties where the coronavirus has multiplied in these six weeks; it was brought by the trocheros (trail smugglers) but later we multiplied it by being overconfident”, said the Venezuelan head of state.

During the activation of the Intermediate Hospital for Attention of Covid-19, in the Poliedro de Caracas; The National President pointed out that it is the small violations of the quarantine, which has multiplied the positive cases in the country, asking the population to reflect as a family on these “small infractions, since they make the difference between being infected or not”.

“You are being asked for the utmost discipline. It is not much to ask, to stop the parties, the celebrations, for us to take care of ourselves more and better, assuming the care of the family”, said President Maduro, who also asked that the security measures and disinfection of the spaces continue to be maintained.

He recalled the devastation caused by the Covid-19 pandemic in the Americas, referring to countries such as Brazil, Chile and Peru that are amidst a health crisis due to the virus.

Venezuela this Friday confirmed the highest numbers of infected and deceased by Covid-19 since the start of the pandemic in the country: 715 positive cases and six new deaths in the last 24 hours.

Of the number of positive cases, 279 are located in the Capital District.

The parishes in Caracas most affected by the pandemic are El Valle (61) and Sucre (33).
