COVID: Venezuela registers 584 community cases and a recovery rate of 95%

This Sunday, a total of 584 cases of community transmission of Covid-19 were detected by the Venezuelan health authorities, to raise the total number of infections to 107,786, while the recovery rate is at 95%.

This was announced this Sunday by the Executive Vice President of the Republic, Delcy Rodríguez, during a work journey led by the President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, together with the Presidential Commission for the Control and Prevention of COVID -19.

Likewise, Rodríguez specified that the entities with the highest number of cases are:

Merida: 140 new cases.

Capital District: 115 new cases.

Zulia: 74 new cases.

Lara: 69 new cases

Plus thirteen other entities that register infections in the last 24 hours.

In this sense, she detailed that there are 4,026 active cases throughout the country.

She also regretted informing that in the last 24 hours there were five deaths from Covid-19: two in Yaracuy state, two in Táchira state and one in Mérida state, to reach the unfortunate number of 954 deaths in the country, since the beginning of the pandemic.

106 more cases than last week:

The president of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, reported that as of December 13, an average of 3,981 active cases was registered in the last week, an average of 451 new cases and 452 daily discharges.

“We came from a sustained reduction in cases from mid-September to the last week of October when we entered a plateau that has remained with little variation during the month of November and December.”

Similarly, he assured that in the month of November the country had maintained the number of 13 active cases per 100,000 inhabitants. However, on average there is an average of 106 active cases more than the previous week.

“The week before we had 345 cases, and this week 451 more. Today we have more active cases than the average for the week,” he warned, so the Ministry of People’s Power for Health foresees an increase in active cases for the next few weeks.

Faced with this scenario, the National Government asks to reinforce individual and collective protection measures to avoid COVID-19 infections.

Likewise, the head of state explained that Barinas, Carabobo, Cojedes, Lara, Nueva Esparta, Táchira and Yaracuy states registered a decrease in the number of cases during this week, while the Capital District, Amazonas, Mérida and La Guaira states registered a growth in the number of cases. The latter at the expense of imported cases.

In that sense, he justified the suspension of international flights and that only those from Mexico, Bolivia and Turkey remain active as a result of the number of cases that registered an increase.

To conclude, the Dignitary informed that to date there are 534 active imported cases that entered 452 through La Guaira, 76 through Táchira, 6 through Apure, 2 through Zulia and one through Bolívar state.
