Venezuela registered 308 new cases of Covid-19 in the last 24 hours, of which 286 correspond to community infections and 22 to cases imported entirely from Colombia, with entry through Táchira (21) and Apure states (1), as informed the Minister for Communication and Information, Freddy Ñañez.
Through his Twitter account @luchaalmada, he announced that “The community cases are distributed in the following states: Yaracuy (80), Miranda (46), Zulia (36), Táchira (33), Lara (20), Carabobo (15), Trujillo (11), Capital District (11), Mérida (8) , Barinas (7), Falcón (6), La Guaira (5), Nueva Esparta (3), Aragua (3), Apure (1), Bolívar (1)”.
Likewise, he highlighted that Yaracuy state is the entity with the highest number of infections: “In 12 of its 14 municipalities: Independencia (21), San Felipe (15), Sucre (15), Cocorote (10), José Antonio Páez (5), Peña (3), Urachiche (3), Veroes (2) , Arístides Bastidas (2), La Trinidad (2), Bruzual (1), Manuel Monge (1)”.
Ñañez pointed out that 100,143 cases of Covid-19 have been confirmed since the beginning of the pandemic, of which 94,985 patients have been recovered, thus maintaining the 95% recovery rate.
He also reported that there are currently 4,285 active cases in Venezuela, of which 4,259 are being treated within the public health system and 26 in private clinics; emphasizing that have been carried out 2,281,564 tests, which represents 76,052 tests per million inhabitants.
In turn, he regretted the death of 2 Venezuelans, “both from Táchira state: A 61-year-old woman and a 52-year-old man. Condolences to their relatives and close ones”, wrote the minister.
Finally, he recalled that the last week of radical quarantine for this year is beginning under the Venezuelan method 7 + 7 Plus, implemented by President Nicolás Maduro, who «has authorized an expanded flexibility throughout the month of December for the healthy enjoyment of all the people”.
“Thanks to the discipline we have maintained during this time. The call is not to lower our guard and maintain biosafety measures, so that we can all have a happy, safe and peaceful Christmas with our loved ones“, concluded Ñañez.
