TSJ summons parties and former candidates for expert appraisal of presidential elections

This Monday, the Electoral Chamber of the Supreme Court of Justice (TSJ) ordered to summon the former candidates and representatives of the political parties to carry out the expert appraisal of the presidential elections of July 28, after earlier the National Electoral Council (CNE) submitted the documents requested in judgment 026 of Friday, August 2.

The president of the chamber and of the TSJ, Caryslia Beatriz Rodríguez, said that, after having received from the CNE all the documents requested, «this Electoral Chamber begins the process of expertise of the submitted material for a period of up to 15 extendable days.»

She specified that “all available mechanisms in our legal system will be used for this purpose” and “for the proper recording of all electoral instruments that are in the possession of the political parties and candidates, they will be summoned intuitu personae,” and warned that failure to appear will entail the consequences provided for in the law.

She stressed that the candidates and political organizations must file the required information and answer the questions asked by the court in a schedule that begins this Wednesday, August 7 at 9:00 in the morning.

In this regard, was detailed that were summoned Manuel Rosales for the Un Nuevo Tiempo [arty; José Luis Cartaya for the Mesa de la Unidad Democrática (MUD), and José Simón Calzadilla for Movimiento por Venezuela, while, at 11:00 in the morning, Edmundo González Urrutia must appear.

Also, at 1:00 in the afternoon, Luis Parra for Primero Venezuela; Conrado Pérez Linares for the Primero Justicia Movement, and Omar Ávila for Union Vision Venezuela, as well as Chaim Bucaram for Venezuela Unidad.

That same day, but at 3:00 p.m., José Brito for Primero Venezuela; at 4:00, José Bernabé Gutiérrez for Accion Democratica (AD); Miguel Salazar for Copei; Mario Valdez, for the Republican Movement; Pedro Vélez for Bandera Roja; José Contreras for Derecha Popular; Carlos Melo for Union Nacional Electoral, and at 6:00, Luis Eduardo Martínez.

Also, on Thursday, August 8, at 8:00 a.m., José Noriega for Voluntad Popular and José Perdomo for the Political Alliance Asamblea Renovacion y Esperanza; at 9:00 a.m., Daniel Ceballos; At 10:00 a.m., Alfonso Campos of Esperanza por el Cambio, and at 10:30 a.m., Javier Bertucci.

Also summoned for this Thursday are at 11:30 a.m., Cristian Chirinos of Soluciones por Venezuela; at 12:00 noon, Claudio Fermín; at 2:00 p.m., Eric Ondarroa of Alianza del Lápiz; Roger González of MinUnidad; Timoteo Zambrano, of Cambiemos; Leonardo Morales, of Avanzada Progresista; Alejandra Aguilera, of Movimiento Ecológico de Venezuela; Máximo Sánchez, of Fuerza Vecinal, and at 5:00 p.m., Antonio Ecarri.
