This Thursday Venezuela reports 701 new coronavirus cases

The country’s health authorities have reported 701 new cases due to the new coronavirus, as informed the executive vice president, Delcy Rodríguez.

She explained that Caracas registered 332 infections, followed by La Guaira state with 66, also 50 foreign infections, 44 coming from Colombia, in addition to four new deceased.

In this sense, she explained that of the 701 cases in total, 651 are by community transmission, while 50 cases are imported. She also stressed that the number of recovered patients is 60 percent of the total number of infected.

The information was released this Thursday by the Executive Vice President, Delcy Rodríguez, from Miraflores Palace in Caracas, at the end of the meeting of the Presidential Commission for the Prevention and Control of Covid-19, which met with the Pan American Organization of Health (PAHO).

Regarding community cases, she specified:

Capital District: 332 new cases in 21 parishes.
La Guaira: 66 new cases.
Miranda: 65 new cases.
Zulia: 44 new cases.
Táchira: 35 new cases.
Anzoátegui: 32 new cases.
Merida: 24 new cases.
Lara: 16 new cases.
Carabobo: 14 new cases.
Nueva Esparta: 14 new cases.
Trujillo: 4 new cases.
Apure: 3 new cases.
Sucre: 1 new case.
Barinas: 1 new case.

Likewise, she detailed in terms of imported cases, that 44 correspond to compatriots coming from Colombia, 4 from Peru and 2 from Ecuador.

For her part, she specified that to date there are 7,035 active patients. Meanwhile, Rodríguez also regretted reporting the death of four people from the Covid-19 infection, bringing the total number of fatalities to 158. Two from the Capital District, one in Guárico and one in Miranda state.
