Head of State holds meeting with Caricom representatives

The president of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, held a meeting with representatives of the Caribbean Community (Caricom), in the city of Kingstown, capital of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines.

It was learned that during this meeting, the chancellor of the Republic of Colombia, Álvaro Leyva, and also representatives of the Republic of Honduras, were also present, in order to maintain an environment of dialogue and peace between the Latin American nations, whose meeting It was led by the organization’s pro tempore president, Roosevelt Skerrit.

This is done, in order to share with the Venezuelan head of State, related to the sincere dialogue on the dispute over Guayana Esequiba.

It is worth noting that the national leader arrived in Saint Vincent and the Grenadines to maintain a dialogue with his counterpart from Guyana, Irfaan Ali, about the controversy over the territory of Guyana Essequiba.

Upon his arrival, he indicated that he comes to this dialogue table with a mandate from the Venezuelan people, “with a word of peace to defend the historical rights of our country, and to search for the only way there is, which is dialogue, to achieve effective solutions.”

He thanked the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States and Caricom for having achieved this step and “we are going to take advantage of it so that our Latin America and the Caribbean continues to be a zone of peace,” he pointed out.
