The President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, led this Tuesday the Gala in Honor of the Bicentennial of the triumphal entry of the Father of the Homeland, Simón Bolívar, to Caracas, an event that took place in the courtyard of the Military Academy of Caracas.
During his intervention in this emotional act, the Head of State recalled that «200 years ago the Liberator came victorious with the armies from Carabobo to receive the love of the people of Caracas.»
«We must bring the rebellious spirit, the greater wisdom and the strength to make Venezuela great as our Liberator Simón Bolívar dreamed it,» Maduro emphasized.
Upon receiving the tricolor flag from the hands of a girl, President Maduro expressed, “I receive this beautiful flag, the beautiful flag of Colombia, the great one, that of Bolívar, the anti-imperialist one. A flag that represents the union of all the forces of the Homeland, this flag is a symbol and pact of union of Venezuela”.
The national leader highlighted the events held on Tuesday to commemorate Bolívar’s triumphal entry into Caracas and congratulated all the artists, dancers, singers and musicians of the “Simón Bolívar” National Youth and Children’s Orchestra who participated in these acts: “Our applause, love and thanks to everyone”.
Bicentennial Gala illuminated Caracas:
The Honor Courtyard of the Venezuelan Military Academy, in Caracas, was the stage that brought together more than 70 traditional Venezuelan dance artists, who performed an allegorical interpretation of the Battle of Carabobo, which included popular songs and songs from the Venezuelan plain, as well as 420 musicians and musicians on stage, culminating in an impressive display of fireworks, a ceremony that was broadcast through the signal of Venezolana de Television (VTV).
Simultaneously with the musical interpretation, scenes of the battle were projected on a large screen and on the façade of the Military Academy, with an off-screen narrator recounting the actions that led to the patriot victory against the Spanish forces.
