National Government will establish an integral agreement with FAO for technical and financial assistance

The President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, informed on Thursday that the National Government is working to develop an integral agreement with the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), in order to have the technical and financial assistance to meet the needs in the country in food matters, as a product of the blockade by the United States Government:
“We are seeing the details of an integral cooperation agreement between the Government of Venezuela and the World Food Program for technical, financial and food assistance to Venezuela”, said the head of state in a joint radio and television broadcast from La Guaira state.
The agreement, as explained the President, will seek to strengthen programs aimed at taking care of Venezuelans in matters of alimentation, such as the Local Supply and Production Committees (CLAP) and the School Feeding Program (PAE).
On October 14, the Minister for Productive Agriculture, Wilmar Castro Soteldo, denounced before the FAO the impact of the coercive measures imposed by the US, which has generated millions of losses to the country and the difficulty of acquiring food and medical supplies to take care of the people.
During his speech, Castro Soteldo emphasized that more than 4,836,000,000 dollars have been hijacked as a result of these unilateral coercive measures, resources that were destined to the purchase of foodstuffs, inputs for the development of agricultural plans, medicines and school supplies in Venezuela.
