Venezuela advocates for a global social alternative for the new era of transition

With the aim of promoting a new era of global transition, the president of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro Moros, reaffirmed the need to advance in the construction of a new global social alternative for the new era.

He indicated that a document emerged from the “World Social Alternative” Meeting, “that allows us to update, broadly and fully, the political, programmatic and ideological framework and puts us, once again at the forefront, to build a new global social alternative.”

This document reflects the vision of a society that constantly invents and reinvents itself, in search of a multipolar and just world: “We are rapidly entering a new era and we have to be at the forefront. If we stay with the old discourse, with the old slogans, with the old ways of doing things, they will pass over us and make us all cosmic dust.”

On the other hand, President Maduro pointed out the relevance of climate change, and stressed the need to adopt measures that not only mitigate, but also heal the environmental wounds caused by capitalism: “We have talked about this issue of climate change and I see it well reflected in the document that you have worked on; This document is worth everything because here it states precisely what the leader of the Landless Rural Workers Movement of Brazil, Joao Pedro Stédile, has told us.”

Finally, he sent a message of hope to the people in which he reaffirmed his confidence in the great scientific and technological development of the socialist peoples, “To free the planet from climate change, which to date has raised the temperature of the planet by four degrees.” tropical countries like Venezuela… I believe then that mitigation and prevention measures can, at a given moment, be combined with healing measures for the wounds that capitalism has created on the planet in 200 years.”
