The Russian government confirmed that it only recognizes Nicolás Maduro Moros, as constitutional president of Venezuela, according to statements by the Russian Deputy Prime Minister. Yuri Borisov. at the 14th meeting of the Russia-Venezuela intergovernmental commission, held in Moscow, according to Hispantv:
“I would like to convey, on behalf of the President of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Putin, words of support to the legitimate President of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro (…). We do not see nor know another president of Venezuela”, said Borisov.
In addition, Borisov indicated that bilateral cooperation, including the expansion of exchange in the field of high technologies, are essential and necessary elements for the stable development of the South American nation.
Similarly, the Russian official stressed that the meeting is a demonstration that Russia and Venezuela are committed to a pragmatic and mutually beneficial cooperation.
