During the celebration of Venezuelan Student Day, the head of State and Government, Nicolás Maduro Moros, presented to the country the new board of the Venezuelan Federation of Secondary Education Students (FEVEEM).
President Maduro reported during his speech that the 5th year student from Nueva Esparta state, Luis Acosta, who has played an important role within the Congress of Secondary Education Students, assumes the presidency of FEVEEM, and young Sara Tavera, who is currently in the 3rd year of high school in the city of Caracas, is the vice president.
In this sense, the President praised the effort of each of the young people of the Homeland who are part of the student movements and who contribute to the promotion of the legacy of Commander Hugo Chávez:
«You are the youth who have inherited all the generations of struggle (…) you are a beautiful generation that carries the legacy of 100 years of the Venezuelan student movement,» said the Dignitary.
He also announced who the new young people are that will make up the new FEVEEM board of directors. Below are some of the high school students who will be in charge of this task:
– Barbara Hernández, Secretary of Organization.
– Adanai Artiaga, Secretary of International Relations.
– Valeria Campos, Secretary of Training.
– Natali Pérez, Secretary of University Affairs.
– Abraham Gutiérrez, Secretary of Culture.
– Jean Luis Rodríguez, Secretary of Sports and Recreation.
– Andrés Rodríguez, Secretary of Communication and Information, among others.
On the other hand, the President urged the Minister of People’s Power for Education, Héctor Rodríguez, to continue expanding and recovering the country’s technical schools through the Bricomiles, because youth is «the country’s path and the fundamental quarry.»
President Maduro also expressed his joy at the union of all currents of the student movement.
