The president of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, affirmed on Friday that the opposition leader Leopoldo López has responsibilities to pay before the Venezuelan justice system.
During the closing ceremony of the Latin American Meeting of Local Governments and Participatory Democracy, he pointed out that «Leopoldo López has guilt facts, and will pay to justice for them» while referring to the recent publications of American newspapers in which are presented hypotheses on the reasons of the failure of the coup d’état on April 30.
In that sense, the Head of State warned that some leaders of the extremist right wing continue to conspire and prepare terrorist routes to go back and try another coup attempt in Venezuela.
In this regard, he warned that anyone who attempts -to assault power through violence- will find a forceful political and military response from an entire country to preserve peace.
