Carlos Melo: CNE’s High Level Commission is unprecedented

The representative of the Progressive Advance Party (AP), Carlos Melo, described as unprecedented the installation of the High Level Commission that will follow up on the electoral guarantees agreement signed by the candidates the presidential elections of May 20: Nicolás Maduro for the PSUV-GPP; Henri Falcón (AP, MAS, Copei) and Javier Bertucci, last March 2.

“This is an unprecedented commission, I had not seen for a long time a commission with these characteristics in other electoral processes,” he said in statements to the press after the meeting.

He stressed that this commission will make proposals to the electoral body on the conditions of the upcoming elections.

For his part, the representative of the Communist Party of Venezuela (PCV), Yul Jabour, was satisfied with this installation, which, in his opinion: “represents the transparency of the CNE, by giving access to different parties to verify each stage of the processes, which goes beyond what is established in the electoral norm and allows a greater access to political parties”, he said.

This commission will be integrated by representatives of the candidates for the presidency of the Republic and the political organizations that are candidates, and it will function within the National Electoral Council.
