The Head of State and Government of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro Moros, announced that those who incur in usury of prices in reference to the price of the parallel (“black”) dollar, will be arrested and prosecuted.
“I have instructed Reverol – Minister of People’s Power for Interior Relations, Justice and Peace – , to arrest anyone who wants to raise prices to the people based on the price set by (opposition’s unofficial currency exchange rate website) Dollar Today”, he said.
In this regard, he specified that any person “who wants to sell at Miami’s terrorist price” will not only be arrested, but will also be prosecuted for the crime committed, by the corresponding courts.
He also stressed that the inspectors of the National Superintendence for the Defense of Socioeconomic Rights will take to the streets to protect the economy of the people, so it would not become a victim of greedy traders.
It should be noted that one of the first proposals made by the National Executive during the campaign of the National Constituent Assembly (ANC), is to create and approve a law in which prices are frozen, in order to ensure the purchase of food and basic necessities the citizenship; This as part of the battle that today the Bolivarian Government is fighting against the economic war induced by destabilizing factors.
