Maduro denounced imperial onslaught against progressive leaders in Latin America

The President of the Republic, Nicolas Maduro denounced on Saturday an onslaught by the US Government against progressive leaders who stand firm in Latin America.
“It’s an imperial onslaught (…) It is a continental onslaught of pro-imperialist oligarchies and the right wing against all progressive, revolutionary left wing leaders, Governments and popular movements” he said.
In this sense, the President warned that these destabilizing actions in the continent belong to a new Condor Plan, implemented from the North American nation, “In order to make disappear the progressive forces” in the region.
Faced with these attacks, President Nicolas Maduro emphasized that the peoples of Latin America will defend the sovereignty and Independence gained in recent years, making emphasis in the Venezuelan case.
“With Dilma (Rousseff) in Brazil, Evo (Morales) in Bolivia, with (Rafael) Correa in Ecuador, Daniel (Ortega) in Nicaragua and with all the peoples and social movements in Latin America, Venezuela will fight for its right to have a sovereign, independent path, of its own, deeply human and national, popular”, stressed the Venezuelan President.
In May this year, Rousseff was suspended from office by the Brazilian Senate High Chamber, while they are studying alleged irregularities in the handling of budgets for contracting loans for the Government with public banks and issue decrees that altered the expenses.
Meanwhile, last Thursday was beaten to death by cooperative groups the Vice Minister of Interior and Police of Bolivia, Rodolfo Illanes. Faced with this crime, the Bolivian President, Evo Morales denounced that this is part of a conspiratorial plan against him.
