With the aim of strengthening strategic collaboration between the two nations, the President in Charge of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Delcy Rodríguez, evaluated a cooperation agenda with the Under Secretary of the United States Department of Agriculture, Luke Lindberg.
The meeting focused on coordinating efforts to address the recovery phases following the earthquake that occurred on June 24, highlighting the support provided by U.S. international agencies.
At the work meeting partaked, on behalf of the United States were John M. Barrett, Chargé d’Affaires to the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela; and Ryan Shrum, Senior Official of the Bureau of Disaster Response and Humanitarian Assistance at the Department of State.
Likewise, were present Venezuelan authorities, among which were the Vice Minister for Europe and North America, Oliver Blanco, and the President of the National Assembly and of the General Staff for the Creation of Temporary Camps, Jorge Rodríguez.
Undersecretary Lindberg, who also leads biosecurity policies and international cooperation in agriculture, reviewed with Venezuelan authorities the progress in managing humanitarian assistance, with the aim of consolidating binational working mechanisms that will facilitate the recovery of the areas affected by the earthquakes.
