Venezuela requests international support to implement new earthquake-resistant construction protocols


The President in Charge of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Delcy Rodríguez, announced that she is seeking the support from top-level international specialists from nations with extensive experience in earthquake-resistant housing construction:

“We have requested support from countries who have a history of earthquakes, such as Mexico, Japan, and Chile. We have been coordinating through our Chancellory precisely to obtain international advice on the design of these new homes that we are going to build,” stated the Dignitary in Charge.

This alliance will allow to examine thoroughly the condition of existing buildings and the determination of the actions and engineering interventions required to guarantee the safety of the population.

“Venezuela is a seismic country, and therefore the new plan for earthquake-resistant housing and cities must incorporate new national and international protocols that will allow us to address situations in the future,” affirmed Rodríguez.

With this international cooperation, the Venezuelan Government seeks to optimize structural habitability processes by applying global safety standards in seismic zones, projecting effective and safe technical solutions for the safeguarding of the citizenry.
