This Wednesday, July 8, the President of the National Assembly (AN), Jorge Rodríguez, offered the daily balance following the two earthquakes of June 24.
He detailed that to date, 86,794 families have been attended to, 6,462 people have been rescued from the rubble, and 9,600,000 kilograms of food have been distributed. At the country’s hospital network and in those established in collaboration with international missions a total of 27,398 patients have been treated.
«We have confirmed that, up to date, 17,907 people are homeless due to severe affectations and damages. A total of 856 buildings have been affected, and of those 856 buildings, 190 have completely collapsed”. To date, the total number of injured people reported is 16,740.
He commented that 4,388 international rescuers are working in coordination with national teams, and 30,076 personnel are deployed, comprised of members of the Bolivarian National Armed Forces (FANB), national, state, and municipal police corps, and firefighters, Civil Defense, and rescue workers. This group is joined by the personnel stationed in temporary camps. The volunteer contingent ascends to 28,992.
