Will be created Venezuelan Music Museum and University «José Antonio Abreu»

The president of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro Moros, announced the creation of the Venezuelan Music University «José Antonio Abreu», with the fundamental objective of continuing to promote and enhance music in Venezuela.

This announcement was made during the commemoration of the 50 years of the System of Children’s and Youth Orchestras of Venezuela «Simón Bolívar», where he pointed out that this has been a musical and cultural revolution in Venezuela.

He also said that the Venezuelan Orchestra System is a great legacy left by Maestro Abreu, who developed it «with great coherence between the word, the thought and his action.»

The Venezuelan President also highlighted during his speech on such a commemorative day, that the Maestro left a work that vindicated not only his name, but that of Venezuela:

Maestro Abreu was a man of great thoughts and culture, with a lot of national, Venezuelan and universal culture. He knew how to combine the deep knowledge of our Homeland, and the vindication of our Liberator Simón Bolívar with universal culture”, mentioned the President to exalt the symbolism of music and culture in the country.

In addition to this, the Dignitary pointed out that this House of Higher Studies has to count on the experience and knowledge of the orchestra system, which already has three (3) courses designed for the curriculum.

On the other hand, he pointed out that Maestro Abreu put into practice in music the philosophy and methodology of Simon Rodriguez, so he stressed that for the Venezuelan to be able to transcend, he must have deep roots in his land, a land that has «a great instrument of social transformation and that is a source of light to shine in the world.»

Venezuela will have the «José Antonio Abreu» Music Museum:

President Maduro also announced the founding of the «José Antonio Abreu» Music Museum of Venezuela, as a sign of the recognition of the Venezuelan people to the distinguished man of culture.

In this sense, the Venezuelan President stressed that there must be a room in which «the beauty of so much recognition can be expressed,» and in turn, he highlighted the importance of valuing humility in the human being, which «is the greatest thing we have. The more humble, the greater you will be, we will be, you will be, boys and girls.»

In this context, the Head of State showed his fervor for the role that music plays in Venezuela and the meaning of God and the Homeland, referring to one of the commandments of Moses, is to love God above all things, so Venezuelans must love their Homeland, their history and their land above all things, “in order to have the strength and sacred flame that a man like José Antonio Abreu had, who today, 50 years later, is being honored by Venezuela and the world.»

The Dignitary also mentioned that the boys, girls and young people of the Venezuelan Orchestra System are in all the fields, neighborhoods and communities of the country, celebrating with the following expression: «Long live the eternal legacy of the Orchestra System and of Maestro José Antonio Abreu! The event is officially inaugurated…»

Maestro Abreu was a man who, through his passion for music, managed to change the lives of millions of children and young people in Venezuela, and his legacy transcended beyond our borders, allowing him to win countless awards for his great work in the country.
