Public Prosecutor’s Office announces 200 new precautionary measures

The Public Prosecutor’s Office (MP) informed the country through a communiqué that a total of 733 releases have been approved by the Judiciary Branch, having been agreed between December 19 and 20, 200 new reviews requested by the Prosecutor’s Office, with precautionary measures for citizens prosecuted for acts of violence after the in-person elections on July 28.

With these new requests, the MP will continue the process of exhaustive review of these cases in defense of Peace, Justice and Human Rights.

PUBLIC PROSECUTOR’S OFFICE

The Public Prosecutor’s Office informs the country that between yesterday, December 19, and today, December 20, it requested and were approved by the Judiciary Branch 200 reviews of measures for defendants following the serious acts of violence that occurred in the country after the presidential elections on July 28, which sought to generate a civil war.

With these new approved requests, the number of releases carried out within the framework of due process guaranteed by the Constitution of the Republic is reached at 733.

The Public Prosecutor’s Office, in a coordinated manner and inspired by the principle of collaboration between public powers provided for in Article 136 of the Constitution, will continue the process of exhaustive review of these cases in the coming hours, in defense of Peace, Justice and Human Rights.
