During the «Con el Mazo Dando” program, the Secretary General of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV), Diosdado Cabello Rondón, confirmed that on May 25, Guayana Essequiba will participate in the elections for governors, representatives to the National Assembly (AN), and the Legislative Councils.
Cabello emphasized this when rejecting Guyana’s request to the International Court of Justice (ICJ) of that Venezuela could not hold elections in Guayana Essequiba.
In this regard, he stated: «On May 25, there will be a governor of our Guayana Essequiba, there will be representatives to the National Assembly, and legislators to the Legislative Council of our Essequibo.»
During broadcast number 518, he reiterated once again that «everything west of the Essequibo River belongs to Venezuela”, thus reaffirmed the motto «The Sun of Venezuela rises in the Essequibo.»
Furthermore, referring to the declaration by the President of the Cooperative Republic of Guyana, Irfaan Ali, that he wanted peace with Venezuela, Cabello emphasized that «they are imperial agents; when they say one thing, it means they want another. Let’s learn to read them.»
