“We have played fair and fair we have won, and when I say we have won, it means that the country’s peace has won. Today the country is calm”. This statement corresponds to the president of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro Moros, expressing, with a tone of respect, his recognition towards Edmundo González Urrutia, for his decision to leave for Spain in search of new horizons:
“The country applauds what has happened. And I can tell Ambassador González Urrutia, in Madrid, I tell you: all my respect for the decision you have made”.
In parallel to these statements, he indicated: “I already had to say it in front of an adversary of our country, President Biden, when a few months ago he stepped aside for various personal, health, and political reasons, I said: “I respect President Joe Biden’s decision, I understand it and I support it”.
Along these lines, he confirmed to González Urrutia: “I understand the step you have taken and I respect it and I hope that you do well on your path and in your new life, and may you have the assurance that your wishes for peace and harmony for the country will be fulfilled. In Venezuela, peace will reign above everything else”.
President Maduro shared the lessons learned from Commander Hugo Chávez during his term, emphasizing the importance of negotiation and diplomacy in the defense of Venezuelan interests, highlighting his commitment to the word given and integrity in the process, underlining the impeccability of the actions carried out by the Bolivarian Revolution:
«Venezuela is bigger than any person and bigger than any ego,» he said, reaffirming his commitment to stability and peaceful coexistence in the country. The President also recalled the importance of respecting the rules of the game and accepting the results with dignity.
