AN strongly condemns hate crime against Orlando Figuera

Regarding the Draft Agreement in repudiation of the vile murder of Orlando Figuera, the young man who died from attacks by the fascist right wing in 2017, the National Assembly (AN) approved carrying out a deep investigation into this unfounded crime by the fascist extreme right wing of Venezuela.

The president of the National Assembly, Jorge Rodríguez, pointed out that the countries that protect the intellectual and material authors should be asked to “respect international treaties and to address the need for a fascist, a racist or a sociopath is not enjoying the joys of a supposed exile.»

In this sense, deputy Diosdado Cabello Rondón, pointed out that this act “has to hurt any human being, it has to make us feel ashamed, today after seven years, that the murderers, all fully identified, the intellectual and material authors of this such a horrendous crime that one is protected in Spain, we all know who they are, those who even called children, those who later made lists, including Orlando Figuera in them as if he had been murdered by the State. I do not know of a single sector of the Venezuelan opposition that has condemned this type of act and that believes that it is normal to murder our adversaries and set them on fire.»

Remember events that occurred in our country that deserve the absolute condemnation of all Venezuelans. In 2017, Venezuela was immersed in an hour of violence, today proven to have been directly supported by the North American empire. Violence unleashed by opposition sectors,” said Cabello.

Likewise, he recalled that this young man had passed by the scene of the event after leaving his job in Las Mercedes: “That comrade did not take into account the roots of deep contempt that these opponents have against the humble people. His physical features were the reason that those sectors used to surround him, attack him, douse him with fuel and then set him on fire, I am referring to Orlando Figuera, murdered by fascist, racist hatred, by those who use violence and then go around the world to say that they are persecuted”.
