President Maduro approves holding Popular Consultations every three months

In the “Con Maduro+ Pueblo” segment, the president of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, approved the holding of Popular Consultations every three months throughout the territory, regarding the National Popular Consultation 2024 held last April 21, where were presented seven projects in each region of the country, among which are improvements in roads, drinking water service, distribution of medicines to health centers, public lighting, among others.

In this sense, the head of state urged mayors, governors, and private companies to support the development of each of the projects developed by the communities. At the same time, he emphasized the importance of building a communal electoral system for local, parish, municipal and state consultations, so “we will have to think about a reform of the laws to force mayors and governors to consult with the grassroots people for their specific projects and resources.”

Likewise, the national leader highlighted the transparency of the electoral process on Sunday, April 21, which, in addition to the People’s Power, also had the presence of international observers: “There were 19 international observers from Angola, Barbados, the United States, Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Mexico, Jordan, Malaysia, Trinidad and Tobago, Spain, and Antigua and Barbuda, who confirmed the efficiency and transparency of the Venezuelan electoral system in the Grand National Popular Consultation that took place this Sunday throughout the country.”

In this order of ideas, the Constitutional President instructed the Minister of People’s Power for Communes and Social Movements, Guy Vernáez, to specify the projects that were prioritized in this Popular Consultation: “I want you to give me a budget, I want to know the proposals of the 4,500 communal circuits, to find the money, get the money and finance the projects that came in first and second place, which are also a need for the communities”. Finally, the worker president recalled that “these communal councils and the communes once again gave an example of conscience. This project is in the Blue Book left by our founding leader and Commander Hugo Chávez.”
