Judicial Branch subordinates to the National Constituent Assembly

The judges of the Supreme Court of Justice (TSJ), the highest instance of the judiciary power, attended the session of the National Constituent Assembly (ANC) on Tuesday to acknowledge the original power and subordinate to their decisions, as demanded by Venezuelan regulations.

“In representation of the Judiciary Power as a constituted power and subordinated to the Constituent Power of this ANC, in accordance with what is established in Articles 347, 348 and 349 of the Constitution of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, I submit to the consideration of this ANC the posts of judges and magistrates of the TSJ, including the role of the highest representative of that power”, said the President of the judicial body, Maikel Moreno, from the Protocolary Chamber of the Federal Legislative Palace, located in Caracas downtown.

Moreno stressed that the Original Power requires the greatest effort to meet the true social needs, and with efficacy, efficiency and promptness, propose structural solutions that allow to advance in issues such as economy and citizen security.

“The ANC will always count with the TSJ and we put our valuable human resources to order to contribute to the sensitive task of detecting the structural problem of impunity, public safety and the effective exercise of justice in our country”, he said.

In that sense, the ANC ratified the authorities of this Constitutional Power.
