Venezuela repudiates femicide against Venezuelan artist Julieta Hernández in the sisterly Republic of Brazil

Through a communiqué, the Ministry of Pepole’s Power for Culture of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela repudiates the femicide committed against the Venezuelan artist Julieta Hernández in the territory of the sisterly Federative Republic of Brazil and requests exemplary punishment for this abominable crime.

Likewise, it expresses its recognition to the Brazilian Government, both at the national level and to the authorities of Amazonas state, for its collaboration in the repatriation of her remains and care for her relatives.

The Bolivarian Government is in contact with Julieta Hernández’s relatives to coordinate support in this hour of pain, both in Brazil and Venezuela. Her body will be transferred on a Conviasa flight and the funeral is scheduled for this Friday, January 12, in Puerto Ordaz, where her mother resides.

Venezuela loses an integral artist with Julieta Hernández, an expression of Venezuelan affirmation. She graduated from the UCV (Central University of Venezuela) as a veterinarian, summa cum laude, she was founder of the Venezuelan Clown Network with studies in Brazil on the Theater of the Oppressed.

Julieta was a true ambassador of peace in Our Americas. In Brazil, she developed intense contacts with social movements of that sisterly South American nation, always keeping high her feminist preaching, her love for childhood, for animals, for the right to smile and for the Bolivarian Venezuela.

The Bolivarian Government and the Venezuelan artistic community thank the brother Brazilian people and their social leadership for the statements and mobilizations carried out from the moment Julieta disappeared with her inseparable bicycle.

Not a single one more!

Honor and eternal glory to Julieta Hernández!
