The President greeted great consensus of the AN at electing new CNE authorities

“I think the election of such a professional, balanced and high-leveled CNE (National Electoral Council) is good news for Venezuela,” emphasized President Nicolás Maduro, when asked about his considerations on the appointment of the board of directors of the Electoral Power.

In the afternoon of this Thursday was announced the appointment of Elvis Amoroso, former comptroller of the Republic, as president of the CNE, as well as the appointment of Rosalba Gil, Aimé Nogal, Juan Carlos Delpino and Carlos Quintero as main rectors.

The head of state saluted the National Assembly (AN), “for having achieved a great consensus to elect the Electoral Power, the new board of the National Electoral Council (CNE).”

It is made up (the new CNE) of good men and women, professionals, balanced. It is up to them to organize the electoral processes in the next seven years (20’23-2030)”, highlighted the President.

He stressed that this implies the mandate “for this new National Electoral Council that has been constitutionally worked on, consulted and decided by consensus, by the Legislative Branch, which is responsible for electing the CNE.”

“It’s the power. Who has the legislative power of the Nation? The National Assembly elected by the people… It is exercising its power in a magnanimous, democratic manner, with a humanist vision”, said the Venezuelan dignitary, after taking a tour of the Science Museum, which exhibits the natural history of Venezuela, in the city of Caracas.
