Economic-productive complementarity will be central issue in Venezuela-Iran cooperation framework

In order to establish a 10-year plan in the framework of cooperation of the bilateral relationship between Venezuela and Iran, the Sectoral Vice President and Minister of People’s Power for Planning, and Venezuelan co-president of the Venezuelan-Iran High-Level Mixed Commission, Ricardo Menéndez, and the Vice Chancellor for Asia, Oceania and the Middle East, Capaya Rodríguez, held a work meeting with the Minister of Defense and Logistics of the Iranian Armed Forces, Amir Hatami, at the headquarters of the Ministry of Defense, in the city of Tehran.

During this meeting, the Vice President for Planning stressed that the central issue within this roadmap between the two nations is the productive economic complementarity: “It is related to how we strengthen our productive agenda in a prioritized agenda, which involves the field of economics, the industrial vision”, he detailed.

The also Minister of Planning also emphasized that said plan has as its goal the development plans of both nations: “It includes what Commander Chávez built, what we have been promoting with President Maduro, and allows us to have a solid platform for the development of the relationship between both countries”, he stated.

Likewise, he highlighted that other areas of cooperation involved in this plan are science, technology and health, “which is incorporated between both countries to face the Pandemic, despite the unilateral coercive measures imposed on both nations by imperialism”.

Concluding, Menéndez assured that “in the coming months we will be exchanging in work meetings for the celebration of the 9th Venezuela-Iran High Level Mixed Commission”.
