On Thursday, April 8, the Capital District, with 157 cases, is the entity with the highest number of cases, followed by Miranda State with 117, and Carabobo State with 104 cases.

Unfortunately, 15 Venezuelans lost their lives, 5 in Caracas, 4 in Yaracuy, 3 in Lara, 1 in Miranda, 1 in Nueva Esparta and 1 in Anzoátegui, for which reason a call is made for all the population to reinforce protection measures to control the contagion chains.

The general balance indicates that to date 14,822 cases are active in Venezuela, 90 percent of the patients have recovered, 97 percent of the cases are being treated in the Public Health System, and the remaining cases are in private clinics.

The high-ranking official of the Bolivarian Government stated that the Americas is currently the epicenter of the pandemic due to the irresponsibility of the President of Brazil, Jair Bolsonaro, who has not addressed the serious situation that is plaguing the entire region.

As indicated by the World Health Organization, the vice-president agreed that cooperation and prevention measures between countries are necessary to eradicate the pandemic, which has also led to extreme poverty for more than 20 million people in our Americas.
